The NPPES or the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System is developed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to assign the unique identifiers for the impovement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the electronic transmission of health information. Health Care Providers and members can access their personal accounts through the page of NPPES Login. The website works best in Internet Explorer versions 6.0 and higher and Firefox versions 2.0 and higher. Users may experience issues with other browsers and are recommended to use the browsers listed above. It is recommended that browser windows be opened using the icon on the desktop to avoid shared browser sessions. Some browsers share sessions regardless of how the browser is opened. Please check with the browser's vendor about session management. When NPPES detects multiple browsers open within the same session, NPPES will terminate the session to protect the data in NPPES. You may run simple queries to retrieve this read-only data. For example, users may search for a provider by the NPI or Legal Business Name. There is no charge to use the NPI Registry. How to Log in to your NPPES Login Account:
1. First, you must be able to access the NPPES Login page by clicking this link directly: https://nppes.cms.hhs.gov/NPPES/LoginPage.do?userType=PROVIDER
2. Supply your personal NPI User ID by placing it on the corresponding log in field in the portal.
3. Follow this step by providing your NPI Password on the second text area in the log in panel.
4. Upon finishing all the mentioned steps above, you can now click the Login button in the NPPES Login page.
1. The first step for resetting your account information is to go to the page of NPPES Login.
2. Enter your User ID first.
3. You must click the "Reset Forgotten Password" in the log in area. This will allow you to change your exisiting password.
Note: User IDs cannot be changed. Once you have successfully chosen a User ID and submitted the record, this User ID will remain tied to your record and will not be changed.
